Augusta, Ga--It's been another banner year with kids inking scholarships to play athletics in college. Doesn't matter if its D1 or D3, if sports can pay for your education, it's a big deal. Today, add nine more kids to the growing list
Grovetown's football team won the region title and hosted a playoff game this year. Now, several of those young men have inked to play at the next level. Justin Franklin, Tyler Mullins, Bashon Morris, Devon Adams, and Kyle Bryant were front and center, making things official. Over at Richmond Academy, Mason Cobb and Clydell White sign for football and big man Vontrez Roberts inks for basketball at Wingate. No matter the sport or college, it's a dream come true.
"It is nerve racking and a humbling experience. I never really thought I'd be able to go play college football but I'm glad I'm able to go and I can't wait." said ARC's Mason Cobb
"Just excitement, pure excitement, I just couldn't wait. I was up all night thinking about it really." said Grovetown's Kyle Bryant
"Like my junior season, when I played AAU and I realized I could be really good and play at the next level and that's when I was like yeah, I can play at the next level" said Vontrez Roberts
Aiken basketball player Natasha Wideman also signed today as the hours in the gym, field and weight room have paid off for all.
