Augusta moves ahead of USC Aiken in regional basketball poll

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The nationally-ranked Augusta University men’s basketball team climbed to second in the NCAA Southeast Region Rankings after upsetting No. 5 USC Aiken and ending the regular season on a 10-game winning streak to win the Peach Belt Conference championship.

The third official NCAA region rankings are through games played on March 3, 2019.

Augusta is also ranked 24th in the nation in the most recent NCAA National Rankings, released by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Tuesday afternoon. The Jaguars also broke into the D2SIDA Men’s Basketball National Media Poll that came out Wednesday and are tied for 15th with Colorado School of Mines.
