ASHEVILLE, NC: On night number two of the season, the Augusta GreenJackets (1-1) were quieted by the Asheville Tourists (1-1) southpaw from Ole Miss, Ryan Rolison.

While the Tourists, Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, scored three runs in the first inning, Rolison pitched five innings of perfect baseball on the mound before he was pulled after just 54 pitches.

Boby Johnson allowed a double to Aaron Bond in the 7th inning to break up the perfect game, but the Tourists tacked on two more runs the rest of the way and collected a 5-0 win.

In the bottom of the 1st inning, Asheville got the bats going. After Will Golsan singled and Terrin Vavra walked, it was Coco Montes with an RBI-double to make it 1-0 Asheville. Grant Lavigne came up next and doubled home two runs making it a 3-0 Asheville advantage.

Augusta starter Gregory Santos finishes his night going three innings and allowing three runs. In the 5th inning, Matthew Frisbee came into the game and allowed a solo home run to Golsan making it 4-0. Frisbee finished his night tossing three innings and striking-out seven, while allowing just one run.

Rolison retired the first 15 batters he faced, and after he was pulled, Johnson went 1.1 innings before Bond doubled to break up the perfect game.

The GreenJackets got two baserunners on in both the 7th and 8th innings but were unable to convert, and left four on-base for the game.
After Hunter Stovall singled home Willie MacIver in the 8th for Asheville, Alexander Martinez retired the side in the 9th inning, and the GreenJackets fell for the first time in 2019 by a final of 5-0.

Rolison picks up the win on the mound while Santos is handed the loss.
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Matthew Frisbee, 3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 7 K
After Jesus Tona’s brilliant performance out of the bullpen yesterday, Matthew Frisbee took the ball and was nearly as good. Despite giving up a home run to the first batter he faced, Frisbee threw three innings while striking out seven Asheville Tourists in a ballpark that is right next door to where he grew up in Candler, North Carolina.

TOMORROW: 6:05 pm @ McCormick Field (Asheville, North Carolina)
Shelby Lackey (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs Jake Wong (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Game #3 of the series features two west coast pitchers taking the hill. Shelby Lackey, from Linden, California was an 18th Round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft from the University of the Pacific. Lackey finished last year in Class-A “Short Season” with the Boise Hawks, where in 33.2 innings, he accumulated an impressive 1.60 ERA.

Opposing him for Augusta will be Jake Wong, the 3rd Round selection in the 2018 MLB Draft. Wong is a native of Chandler, Arizona and after a stellar career at Grand Canyon University, the right-hander posted a 2.30 ERA in 27.1 innings for Class-A “Short Season” Salem-Keizer last year.
