A.J. Gray's football career cut short at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA (WRDW/WAGT) -- Former Washington County standout and Georgia Tech player, A.J. Gray will no longer play football, due to a medical condition.

According to Georgia Tech, Gray has a heart condition.

The two-year starter at free safety, appeared in 33 games over three seasons for the Yellow Jackets. He finishes his career with 147 tackles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Gray won't be suiting up, but he will remain on scholarship.

Gray, one of the best players in the state coming out of high school, is a former AJC player of the year.
