What to know about the I-20 bridge work

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- While work began overnight on I-20, it was slightly delayed.

News 12 has now been told the contractors doing this work the next two weeks are working on their own schedule, but the work will still be finished within the timeframes listed below.

So whether the work begins on time, the work will always be finished between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m.

GDOT also tells News 12 any closures will only be in one direction at a time each night.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – According to GDOT, there will be nightly single-lane and shoulder closures at the Savannah River Bridge and the Augusta Canal areas from January 22-February 10.

This is apart of the I-20 bridge replacement and widening at the state line. I-20 in both directions between River Watch Parkway and W. Martintown Road will be single lanes.
