SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A Saluda County woman is dead after spending Tuesday on Lake Murray.
According to a news release, the Saluda County Sheriff's Office received a call about a boat with no driver on the lake just after 12 noon Tuesday.
Witnesses were able to retrieve the boat and pull it to the dock in the area of Atlas Drive.
An investigation revealed Cynthia Leagan, 46, from Saluda County was operating the boat when she disappeared. Leagan's husband told deputies he talked to his wife while she was on the boat.
Saluda County, Newberry County, and South Carolina's Department of Natural Resources started a search and found Leagan's body in the lake around four and a half hours later.
It is not clear exactly how she died. An autopsy Wednesday should provide the Coroner's Office with more information in this death investigation.
