NORWOOD, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- An individual has been arrested in connection with arson and murder.
On Friday, August 18, the GBI and Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shantony Lavont Tucker, 30, of Norwood in connection with the death of Brea Mance, according to authorities. Authorities said Tucker was charged with murder, arson, and concealing the death of another.
Right now, Tucker is being held at the McDuffie County Jail.
On Saturday, August 12, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and fire department personnel from Warren County Fire Rescue and the McDuffie County Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Cobb Street. Amid a search of the residence, fire officials located Brea Mance deceased within the residence, according to authorities. The GBI Region 7 Field Office responded and began investigating into the death of Mance, as well as the structure fire.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted with the investigation, and the investigation is ongoing.

WARREN COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A woman is dead after a house fire on Cobb Street in Norwood late Saturday morning.
Investigators say the call came in at 10:55 Saturday morning on the 200 Block of Cobb Street in Norwood.
Deputy coroner Sandy Yelton says the body found in the home has been identified as Brea Amanda Mance, 27.
Yelton said the body is being sent to the GBI state crime lab. The cause of death has not been released.
The state fire marshal, the Warren County Sheriff's Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating.
