Wildwood Park attracts 1,800 archers this weekend

APPLING, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The top archers from around the world are competing in the Archery Shooters Association Pro-Am held at Wildwood Park through Sunday.

“The entire weekend is really kind of an archery festival built around an archery tournament," ASA President Michael Tyrell said.

Professional archers compete Friday and Saturday. Amateurs will compete Saturday and Sunday.

“We are expecting around 1,800 competitors," Tyrell said. "That will range from kids around 6 years old to our super old kids to around 70."

There is no cost to attend the ASA event, but you will have to pay the Wildwood Park entry fee of $3.

“We’ll have about 50 manufacturers, sponsors set up here offering and displaying just about anything you can imagine," said Tyrell.

“If you’re in the area or live in the area, it would be an awesome opportunity to see a lot of the companies that you probably use their product at some point in your backyard," Brandon Reyes, director of marketing for TRU Ball Sights said.

So, if you’re in to bow hunting, or just archery in general, there will be plenty to check out at Wildwood Park this weekend.
