AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- If the skies in Augusta seem a little hazy to you today, you're not alone.

That's because officials at Fort Gordon are working on a controlled burn, targeting 512 acres in Training Area 36.

"South winds are really transporting that smoke very efficiently into downtown Augusta," News 12 meteorologist Riley Hale said.

That controlled burn began at 11 a.m.

No word when post officials plan to complete the burn.
