AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A portion of Augusta University's Riverfront Campus, the old Golf and Gardens, will become the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center, which will be the new home of the Augusta University Cyber Institute.

The state will invest $50 million to build the new 150,000-square-foot cyber facility.

The center will be a state-owned cyber range that brings together academia, private industry and government to establish cybersecurity standards across state and local agencies to develop and practice protocols for responding to cyber threats, according to Gov. Nathan Deal's office.
