AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- A win under any other circumstances wouldn’t be as sweet.
"The atmosphere was unbelievable yesterday,” patron Greg Asmon said.
"Oh it was electric,” Australian patron David Ferguson said. “We could hear it all over the course when Tiger did something good."
It was a roar so loud that it could only be for Tiger Woods.
He was a man many counted out and very few thought could win again.
"We saw him enter the practice field early in the morning, and I told the guys right off the back he had a special intensity that morning,” Asmon said.
It was the kind of intensity that can make a fan out of a non-believer.
“My dad says he really doesn't like Tiger, but he really likes that he has so much perseverance and that he overcame everything,” patron James Sun said.
It was also the kind of drama that can capture a non-golfers attention.
"It was crazy,” viewer DeMarcus Cooper said. “Everyone went wild."
It was the kind of talent that can also inspire a new generation of golfers – like those attending first tee.
“Just after seeing that I don't want to stop ever again,” first tee golfer Matthew said.
As much as Tiger wanted to win, his fifth Masters victory seems to mean just as much to golf, as it does to him.
