29,000 pounds of recalled Jimmy Dean sausage links could have metal inside

(WRDW/WAGT) -- The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced a recall of frozen, ready-to-eat pork and poultry sausage. The products could have "foreign matter contamination".

The FSIS says the meat could contain extraneous materials, specifically pieces of metal

23.4 oz. packages of Jimmy Dean HEAT ’n SERVE Original SAUSAGE LINKS Made with Pork & Turkey with a use by date of January 31, 2019 are under the recall of 29,028 pounds of product.

All products under the recall were produced and packaged on August 4th.

If you have this Jimmy Dean product in your freezer, check the labeling. The affected meat is from case code A6382168, with a time stamp range of 11:58 through 01:49.

The problem was discovered Monday.
