Two women charged with assault, weapon possession after Hooters shooting

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- We're learning more about what happened when

Sunday.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrived on the scene around 8:43 p.m. and found multiple people involved in a fight. Once it was broken up, they realized someone had fired a shot and a woman was injured.

Crystal Merriweather, 31, was shot in the leg and another person who was apparently injured, Lyondo Ware, 38, had already arrived at the hospital.

Investigators think the same round that hit Merriweather also hit Ware.

Deputies say Latashia Hill, 28, fired the shot, and she was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime.

A second suspect, Aishah Shahiid, 26, was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime.

We're told several weapons were discovered in the restaurant after the fight.
