(WRDW/WAGT) -- Both Richmond County and Columbia County have Special Elections Tuesday, and we're telling you what you need to know before heading to the polls.

Richmond County

Richmond County voters will be electing a new District 5 commissioner Tuesday. The winner will finish the term of Commissioner Andrew Jefferson, who died back in November. Johnny Few has served as interim commissioner for a few months.

Here is the list of candidates running Tuesday:

Bernard Harper
Johnny Few

Kelby Walker
Bobby Williams
Columbia County

:

Columbia County wants to build new schools, fund technology and buy school buses by continuing E-SPLOST. If it passes, the first order of business is three elementary schools, two middle schools and a new county-wide high school campus.

This is not a new tax, it's just an extension of what's currently in place. E-SPLOST has funded 16 new schools in 17 years entirely.

: One of two candidates will fill the spot long held by Councilman Dennis Trudeau, the stepfather of former clerk Vicky Capetillo.

Here is the list of candidates running Tuesday:

Allen Transou
Marsha Keating
