CNN – 40,000 pounds of chicken went up in flames on a Georgia interstate Tuesday.
This tractor-trailer was hauling the chicken to California when it caught on fire on Interstate-285 in Cobb County.
The driver was able to safely get out of the vehicle before it was engulfed by flames.
No word on what sparked the fire.
The truck driver said he tried to douse it with a fire extinguisher...but the flames became too powerful.
Truck driver: "I think break fire."
Reporter: "It was a break fire, you mean?"
Truck driver: "Yeah. I don't know, but when I see them when I see the flare I stop here. I dropped trailer, called 911."
Crews had to block most of the interstate for hours as they worked to extinguish the flames.
They are now looking for a cause.
