AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Two men and a woman are behind bars Wednesday after a man says they entered his home and beat him.
The victim, John Harbin, told deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office that he arrived at his home on the 700 block of Stillwater Drive Monday to find four people inside.
Harbin says James Ford, Carlton Norwood, and another man tied him up by one of his arms, then beat him with their fists and a wooden object.
According to a report filed by the sheriff's office, Harbin has several bruises on his neck and a cut under his left eye from the beating.
Harbin says a woman, Eva Gardener, was also in the home. She was not involved in the beating.
Deputies say Harbin got free and ran from the home to get help. Another man found him, took him to a friend's home, where he stayed until going back to his house to retrieve his wallet and clothes.
When they got back to the house, Harbin says Ford yelled that he had a gun, then shot at him through a window.
Harbin ran from the house and called the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, who in turn contacted Richmond County deputies.
Harbin was taken to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment.
Jones later told investigators that Norwood left the gun at the home earlier in the day for Gardener. She and Harbin had previously lived together for two years.
Ford, Norwood, and Gardener are all charged with battery, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.
The fourth suspect, an unidentified man who Harbin says was called Mike or Mark, has not been taken into custody.
We found Norwood has a history of violence. An affidavit testimony stated that Carlton Norwood did head-butt a woman at his business, Norwood Financial group. The prosecution later decided not to prosecute on the changes of simple battery.
