UPDATE| 1 dead in River Road crash

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Burke County officials report the passing of Dewayne Dandy Jr.

Dandy was involved in a single-vehicle crash on River Road on Tuesday around 4 p.m.

He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and placed in ICU.

Burke County Chief Blanchard says thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The person involved in the vehicle crash on River Road on Tuesday remains in ICU in critical condition at AUMC.

The single-vehicle crash happened after 4 p.m. on May 22. River Road was shut down until officials cleared the scene.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. News 12 will continue to look into this incident and update this story with the latest information as it becomes available.

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Burke County officials responded to a single-vehicle crash on River Road at Collins Road just after 4 pm.

River Road has since reopened.

At this time reports indicated that the victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Sheriff Blanchard says the patient has been listed in critical condition and is currently in ICU.

BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Burke County officials are at River road near Collins Road working a serious crash.

One person is reportedly injured and is being transported to the hospital. We are working to determine the details of the injuries.

At this time River Road is shut down until further notice from Highway 80 through Collins Road.
