UPDATE | Bond denied for suspect in cross-county high-speed chase with shots fired

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Bond has been denied for one of the suspects arrested following a high-speed chase with shots fired overnight Saturday.

The judge denied bond for Dylan Raborn, 23, due to previous charges.

Kristopher William Buckland did not a have a first appearance today because there are no charges against him. Right now, he is on "hold."

Aiken County deputies said the incident started after deputies got an arrest warrant for Raborn for accessory after the fact in connection to a death investigation from Aug. 4.

According to a release, at 11:30 p.m. Friday, investigators got information that Raborn was at the Ashley Motel off Jefferson Davis Highway.

When deputies tried to arrest Raborn, he took off in a silver Honda with Buckland and led investigators from three agencies and the GBI on a high-speed cross-county chase with shots being fired from their vehicle.

CLEARWATER, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Richmond County deputies arrested two suspects after a car chase early Saturday morning.

Aiken County deputies say the incident started after deputies got an arrest warrant for Dylan Raborn, 23, for accessory after the fact in connection to a death investigation from Aug. 4, 2017.

According to a release, at 11:30 Friday night, investigators got information that Raborn was at the Ashley Motel off Jefferson Davis Highway. When deputies tried to arrest Raborn, he took off in a silver Honda with another suspect, Kristopher Buckland, 30.

A chase started after Buckland and Raborn were fleeing the parking lot and hit another parked car.

During the chase, deputies say Raborn hung his upper body out of the passenger side window of the car and fired several shots.

The chase entered Richmond County off Gordon Hwy and Richmond County deputies took over. At the end of the chase, Richmond County deputies arrested Raborn and Buckland.

Both suspects are facing charges in Georgia.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- After a three-county, 90 mile per hour high-speed chase, deputies have arrested Dylan Raborn.

Raborn was wanted in connection with the Avalon Lane death investigation that began on Aug. 4.

Authorities confirm the chase began in Aiken County, headed into Richmond County, then Columbia County, ultimately ending in Richmond County with Raborn's arrest.

Raborn wasn't alone in the chase -- deputies confirm that he was joined by Kristopher Buckland, who was later arrested, too.

The chase started at Ashley Motel as deputies arrived, serving Raborn with an arrest warrant. Raborn and Buckland fled the motel after striking a parked vehicle in the parking lot.

Deputies on the chase say that Raborn hung his body out of the passenger window and fired at police vehicles. No deputies were harmed.

Once the vehicles crossed into Richmond County, Richmond County deputies took over.

Authorities say that both Raborn and Buckland face charges in Georgia, and additional charges stemming from the chase.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Investigators from three counties and Georgia State Patrol were led on a 90 mile per hour high-speed chase that started in Aiken County, went into Richmond County, into Columbia County, and back into Richmond County.

According to Richmond Co. Dispatch, shots were fired at deputies as the chase ensued along Gordon Highway and Peach Orchard Road.

There were reportedly two suspects in the car. The chase went from Gordon Highway to North Leg to Bobby Jones to Wrightsboro and back onto Bobby Jones. The two suspects then got on I-20 toward Wheeler Road and crossed into Martinez.

The suspects reportedly continued to Old Evans Road where one of the suspects fled at Hightower Drive. The suspect was brought into Columbia County custody. The chase continued on Old Evans Road to Riverwatch Parkway and back into Richmond County.

From Riverwatch Parkway, the suspect reportedly turned onto Washington Road, and then onto Davis Road. The suspect reportedly continued onto Walton Way Extension and tried to exit onto I-20 from the off-ramp going the wrong way. It was there the suspect reportedly crashed, reportedly hopped out the window, and began shooting at deputies before being apprehended.

A search is on for a ditched weapon. Richmond County investigators confirm that they are searching for a weapon along Lumpkin Road near Burns United Methodist Church.

Thankfully, nobody was injured in the chase.

Sources close to the investigation tell News 12 that one of the suspects is a murder suspect out of Aiken County, but we're working to get that information confirmed.

Richmond County Sheriff's Office, Columbia County Sheriff's Office, and Aiken County Sheriff's Office all responded along with Georgia State Patrol.
