AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A suspect is behind bars after shots were fired in Aiken County Saturday night.

Deputies say Stephen Connor Clemons, 20, opened fire at a home on the 300 Block of Birch Street around 11:19 p.m. Saturday.

No one was injured in the shooting, but witnesses say one round was shot into a home where people were sleeping.

Clemons is charged with Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling and Possession with Intent to Distribute.

Sheriff Michael Hunt made the following statement:

“This is an isolated incident where alcohol was involved and
poor judgment on the suspect’s part. This could have been worse than just property damage it could have easily harmed or injured innocent people.”
