AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- You can see the big green sign from I 20. It's the reason Jamie Bisard is in Augusta to open and run Sprouts Farmers Market.
"Sprouts' is a healthier store, healthier options, we believe in teaching our customers how to live a healthier lifestyle when it comes to the food they eat and the things they put in their body," said Jamie Bisard, Store Manager.
Bisard says what makes Sprouts' different from the rest is low prices.
"It's just our culture we're about selling more at a lower price to make our margins as opposed to selling things at a high markup to make the margin."
This sign only says Sprouts' but it’s not the only thing coming to Crane Creek. This site plan shows an ice cream shop, a nail salon, and a restaurant is still to come each place is a first timer in Augusta.
Down the road Beverly Pitts shops at the Belk in Mullins Colony another plaza pretty empty but filling up.
"We're kind of looking forward to some more stores, especially restaurants," said Beverly Pitts. Luckily for Pitts, more restaurants are coming so far a Diablo's and a Tropical Smoothie are in the works.
There are also plans for a new Edible Arrangements location and a nail salon.
“It's really nice," said Pitts.
Mullins Colony and Crane Creek are filling up fast. A representative for Mullins Colony says it is more than 80-percent full.
We can expect to hear more announcements in April. As for Sprouts’ Farmer's Market, it will open its doors to shoppers on May 2nd.
