AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A new kind of grocery store has set its sights on Augusta.
In a tweet, Augusta Commissioner Sean Frantom said "Looking forward to having @sproutsfm in Augusta."
According to a listing on the Cobblestone Retail Group website, Sprouts Farmers Market will open its store along Walton Way Extension near the I-20 interchange.
On its website, Sprouts said its workers love to "inspire, educate and empower every person to eat healthier and live a better life."
The company opened its first store in Arizona in 2002. Today it has 250 stores in states across the country.
We are working to find out when the new Sprouts store will open its doors for customers. We'll pass that information along, as soon as it's available.
If you'd like to learn more about Sprouts, we have included a link to the company's website on the right side of your screen.
