(WRDW/WAGT) -- A small group of local teachers are expected to be out of school Wednesday, the same day as a
Thousands of South Carolina teachers are expected to call out Wednesday in demand of higher pay statewide.
Though it's unclear whether this is the reason, 9 teachers in McCormick County have called out, as well as four in Orangeburg District 4, and 8 teachers called out in Bamberg District One.
Aiken County Public School officials say they're expecting about 211 of their teachers to be out Wednesday.
Bamberg District Two, Barnwell District 29, and Allendale County say no teachers have called out.
Some school districts closer to Columbia have had to cancel school for the day due to so many teachers calling out.
