RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Richmond County Marshal's Office has arrested a man for felony illegal dumping, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and four outstanding felony warrants.
Octavious Mack was arrested on Friday, Aug. 25, after weeks of physical surveillance and intense investigation. This is the first felony illegal dumping case made by the Marshal's office in over 20 years.
When confronted around 12:13 p.m., he physically resisted the arresting officer and attempted to flee the scene. The deputy marshal issued his taser and after a brief struggle, Mack was taken into custody.
It is unclear at this time where Mack was dumping, but it appears Mack was dumping a lot of tires.
Richmond County's Marshals Office is also currently investigating several other illegal dumps throughout the county. If you see any illegal dumping occurring, report it to the Marshal's Office at (706) 821-2368.
