Richmond County deputy dies of apparent heart attack on-duty

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A Richmond County deputy has died of an apparent heart attack while participating in an annual physical fitness assessment.
Deputies on scene performed CPR on Deputy James Wallace until EMS arrived and transported him to Doctor's Hospital. Wallace passed away at 1 p.m.
Deputy Wallace started at the Sheriff's Office in November 2010 at 54-years-old. The Sheriff's Office said everyone knew him to be a good person and a friend.
