AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Richmond County Sheriffs Office says deputy Adam Wade, a Deputy Jailer working at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center, has been arrested after an accident on Saturday night.

Officials say the accident happened on Broad Street, and Deputy Wade reportedly hit two parked cars and left the scene. He was off duty and operating his own, privately owned car.

Soon after, Deputy Wade was stopped by Richmond County deputies. The investigation is being lead by Georgia State Patrol. Deputy Wade has been charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, DUI Alcohol, and hit and run. He's currently booked in at the detention center.
