Police: Gas station clerk charged with fatally shooting man
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) — Authorities in Georgia say a gas station clerk has been arrested for fatally shooting a man inside the store after the two argued.
News outlets report 26-year-old Amir Javed was charged with malice murder Monday.
DeKalb Police Lt. Rod Bryant says Javed called 911 around 1:45 a.m. stating a man was shot inside a Texaco station. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Bryant says the victim may have been stealing and Javed shot him after some type of dispute.
Bryant says the victim was unarmed. He says it's unclear if Javed or the victim knew each other.
Police didn't immediately identify the victim.
It's unclear whether Javed has an attorney who can comment on his behalf.
