EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The lockdown is over at Parkway Elementary, in Evans.
EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- News 12 has learned a Columbia County school is on lockdown.
Columbia County Schools says Parkway Elementary is on soft lockdown, following an incident involving a young girl.
"Soft' lockdown means any outdoor activity, like recess, has been temporarily suspended. The incident happened in a nearby neighborhood.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says the girl was riding a bike in Knob Creek neighborhood when an older man allegedly pushed her off and ran. A search is underway.
Deputies say the man they're looking for is around 40 years old with short brown hair, and he was wearing jeans and a dark short-sleeve shirt.
