RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A parent has been arrested after her child allegedly brought a gun to Windsor Spring Elementary School.
Investigators arrested the child's parent, 27-year-old Tangie Pearson, on charges including theft by receiving and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She allegedly put the 9mm stolen handgun in her 8-year-old's backpack.
Police were called to the school on Tuesday (Oct. 31) after reports that the unnamed student was in possession of a weapon.
Officials say the gun had an extended magazine.
