UPDATE | Driver in Barnwell Co. crash identified as 53-year-old

BARNWELL COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- One person is dead and two are hospitalized after a crash in Barnwell County.

The crash happened Thursday around 3:20 p.m.

Shelia Smith, 52, was driving a 2008 Honda southbound when her car swerved into the northbound lane and struck a 4-door Lexus.

The driver of the Lexus, identified as Gloria Williams, 53, died from her injuries at the hospital, but a passenger and Smith are still being treated at AUMC.

South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers say neither the driver or passenger in the Lexus were wearing a seat belt.
