Officials: Man shoots brother and father, one dead

JENKINS COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- The Jenkins County Sheriff's Office says two people were shot and one is dead after a shooting on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Millen.

Sheriff Robert Oglesby says it happened at 1:00 p.m. on the 400 block of McComb Drive and MLK Boulevard.

Sheriff Oglesby says one man allegedly shot his brother and father. Deputies say Greg Griffin Jr. has been arrested for the shooting and is in custody. Charges are pending an investigation.

The brother, identified by the Jenkins County Coroner as 39-year-old Demirio Griffin, died from injuries and has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. The father was injured and sent to AUMC.

The Jenkins County Sheriff's Office and the Millen Police Department were dispatched to a shooting on McComb Drive.

The Jenkins County Sherrif's Office, Jenkins County Coroner and City of Millen Police Department were on scene. The Burke County SRT-SWAT team was called to assist. They say the GBI has been called to investigate.
