UPDATE | Power restoration underway

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT)-- As of 4 o'clock this afternoon, Georgia Power says all it's Augusta customers have power again.

In a press release officials say restoration is completed in the Augusta and Savannah region. The company has nearly 6,000 personnel working around the clock. Crews don't expect to have the restoration completed in Macon, Central Georgia and Americus until 10 o'clock.

Areas like Bainbridge, Albany may not see restoration until next week.

Georgia Power says there are more than 200,000 people without power in the state.

(WRDW/WAGT) -- Tropical Storm Michael is making its way across the CSRA.

As of 3:32 a.m., Georgia Power says there are 186,337 people without power. As of 12:15 a.m. Georgia EMC is reporting there are 106,774 people without power.

(WRDW/WAGT) -- As Hurricane Michael makes its way into Georgia, thousands of people are without power already.

As of 5:43 p.m. Wednesday,

reports about 25,427 outages statewide, while

reports about 28,350.

In total, about 53,777 customers are without power early Wednesday evening.

This number doesn't include smaller power companies in individual counties.
