AUGUSTA, G.A. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Two local organizations recently put their efforts in helping veterans.

Master Buick GMC in Augusta and Master Chevrolet Cadillac in Aiken recently joined forces to raise money and awareness for the Augusta Warrior Project, the only local organization of its kind that brings together all the necessary resources to help local warriors– wounded or not – and their families.

From June 19th through July 8th, Master Automotive hosted a military appreciation event at both dealerships and pledged $50 per vehicle sold during that time to the Augusta Warrior Project. For their pledges, a total of $7650 was raised and a check presentation was made by Will Schafer, who is the President of Master Automotive, and Kim Elle, the President and CEO of AWP, at Master Buick GMC in Augusta on Wednesday, July 19th.

According to a press release, Elle said, “Thank you all so very much for your unwavering support of the Augusta Warrior Project and those we serve! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!!”

“We are proud and honored to be able to help support and raise awareness for the Augusta Warrior Project. The veterans AWP serves have helped make it possible for us to live in freedom and we wanted to show our appreciation. We look forward to working with AWP

again in the future.”, said Mr. Schafer.
