RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A man arrested in connection with the shooting death of another man near Heritage Apartments back in November has been indicted on felony murder charges.

Laron Deon Mickens faces two felony counts of murder, a felony charge of firearm possession during a crime, and a felony charge of use of a weapon by a convicted felon in the death of 25-year-old Fredrick Booker.

Investigators found Booker laying on the ground with several gunshot wounds in front of a building on the 3200 block of Heritage Circle around 1:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5. A witness told investigators that someone shot Booker several times and drove away in an unknown vehicle.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Richmond County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of another man near Heritage Apartments on Sunday.

Laron Mickens has been charged with possession of a firearm during a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, with more charges pending.

Investigators found Fredrick Booker, 25, laying on the ground with several gunshot wounds in front of a building on the 3200 block of Heritage Circle around 1:25 a.m. Sunday. A witness told investigators that someone shot Booker several times and drove away in an unknown vehicle.

Another witness said she was sitting on the front steps of her building when she saw Booker run down the stairs from his apartment with a handgun at his side. She told investigators she ran back into her apartment after seeing the gun and heard five gunshots outside the building. She saw an unknown black male run to a silver sedan and leave in an unknown direction.

Gold Cross EMS transported Booker to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment, where he died Tuesday.

Officials are actively investigating this incident. An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A man was pronounced dead at Augusta University Medical Center today (Nov 7).

Authorities say 26-year-old Frederick Booker was shot multiple times near Heritage Apartments at 1 a.m. on Sunday.

Officials are actively investigating this incident. An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week.
