Man arrested in SC hospital shooting that injured an officer

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- SLED officers have arrested a man after a shooting at a Laurens County hospital.

Kevin Boyce Patterson, 27, was charged with Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, and Pointing and Presenting a Firearm after allegedly opening fire at Prisma Health Laurens County Thursday morning.

Patterson and a Greenville Health Authority Police officer were injured inthat shooting.

SLED tells News 12 Patterson was visiting with another person who was being seen by staff in the Emergency Department at the time of the incident.

Patterson has been booked into the Laurens County Detention Center.
