Man arrested for making bomb threat against Augusta National Golf Course

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A man has been arrested for making a bomb threat against the Augusta National Golf Course on March 25.

58-year-old Robert Beckum allegedly left a note in a bathroom stall in the Circle K on Wheeler Road threatening to bomb the Augusta National Golf Course.

The note also contained the name of an individual who would allegedly carry out the bomb threat.

During the investigation, they identified Beckum as the suspect. Beckum admitted to police that he wrote the note using someone else’s
named and admitted that it was a hoax.

Beckham was arrested and is being charged with False Public Alarm.
