Lidl grocery stores slated to open in September

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C/AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Lidl Grocery stores are set to open in Augusta and North Augusta in September.
The store in Augusta will open on Sept. 14, and the store in North Augusta will open on Sept. 21.
A Lidl Grocery story is slated to be built on Alexander Drive near the Washington Walk Shopping Center at Washington Road, while another one is set to be built on East Martintown Road across from Big Lots.
Lidl, a European grocery marketplace, announced it will expand to the U.S in 2016. A preferred store is about 36 thousand square feet with convenient, on site parking capable of holding 150 spaces. A typical Lidl US store employs between 30 and 35 team members.
