AUGUSTA, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- With schools around the CSRA closing due to the coronavirus, school districts are still working to get meals to needy students.
Several districts have already created plans to make sure students are getting fed.

Burke County: Starting March 18, Burke County Public Schools have been delivering meals to students using school buses on the regular bus routes. Meals will not be distributed during the scheduled Spring Break, April 6-13, 2020.
Columbia County: The Columbia County School District, working with dozens of local businesses, churches, and other organizations, will provide food resources for our students in need through the present shutdown.
UPDATE: Columbia County will not be giving out meals during Spring Break. However, they are linking up with local churches to help.
Seven schools will serve as pickup sites for “grab and go” breakfasts and lunches, Monday – Friday, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. beginning Monday, March 23 – Friday, April 3, 2020. Items will be prepared by school nutrition staff and will be distributed by curb-side pickup or delivered to students who have no means of transportation.
All Columbia County School District students in need may receive a lunch safely packaged in a sack to go, along with breakfast for the next day, at any of the following sites:

Parents of students in need of grab and go meals should complete a request or call 706-828-1902.

Wilkes County:Tuesday was 8 meals: breakfast and lunch for the remainder of this week. Monday will be 10 meals: breakfast and lunch for all week. We will distribute by running all bus routes according to the regular afternoon bus schedule and meeting students at the bus stops.
Richmond County: Buses will deliver food to area neighborhoods Monday – Friday between 11:00 am -1:00 pm. Students and parents can meet the bus at the end of their driveway where school nutrition staff will provide them with a lunch. Buses will drive through the neighborhoods throughout the two-hour timeframe to ensure that children are able to access meals. The following neighborhoods will have school bus food delivery service:

Taliaferro County: We will prepare school lunches for pick up in the TCS cafeteria on the following dates. We will send home 2 days worth of meals: Wednesday, March 18th from 11:00-1:00, Friday, March 20th from 11:00-1:00. We will also have a pick up station in at the Sharon Post Office on the following dates: Wednesday, March 18th from 12:30-1:00, Friday, March 20th from 12:30-1:00. If you are unable to travel to the school or Sharon, please contact Mrs. Seals at 706-990-1831 or email@example.com to arrange a home delivery.
Jenkins County: JCSS will be providing food for our students over the next two weeks. A schedule of bus stops and times is attached. All students are eligible for bags. Each bag will contain lunch for each student for three to four days. Students do not have to be present to get a bag (an adult can collect the bags for their children).
The days bags will be out at the stops are: Thursday, March 19, Tuesday, March 24, Friday, March 27, Tuesday, March 31, and Friday, April 3. Please report to the stop nearest your home as that will be how the number of lunches are determined. The week of Spring Break there will be no deliveries so please plan accordingly.
Hancock County: Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, the Hancock County School District will be providing meals to all youth throughout the Hancock County Community from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at each of the following locations:
1. Hancock Central Middle & High School (Bus Ramp)
2. CJE Foundation located at 2866 HWY 22 Sparta, GA 31087
3. Camp All Star located at 30 Covey Rise Farm Road Sparta, GA 31087 (Intersection of HWY 22 & Covey Rise Farm Road)
Meals are available at NO COST to youth aged 18 and under (or up to the age of 21 for individuals with disabilities).
Interested participants are permitted to visit either of the locations listed above to receive a pre-packaged grab and go breakfast and lunch. Meal service will be provided each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with two breakfasts and two lunches during the weeks of school closure related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Only one breakfast and one lunch will be provided on Fridays. If cold items are not consumed within one hour, they should be immediately refrigerated at a temperature of 41 Degrees Fahrenheit or below.
Edgefield County:Beginning Tuesday, March 17, the district’s buses will run routes to deliver lunch and breakfast to students throughout the county. The buses will run their routes between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Parents and students are asked to be on the lookout for buses during these hours and to meet the buses at their normal stopping places to pick up meals. JET Middle School and Merriwether Elementary School have also been designated as feeding locations and will provide meals to students that are car riders from all schools between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Food will be delivered and available Tuesday through Friday this week. There is no cost for breakfast and lunch. On Wednesday, March 18, when the buses deliver meals, assignments for students for the week will be delivered with the food. The assignments will be in brown paper grocery bags, which should be kept to return the assignment next week. Everything a student needs to complete the assignments will be included in the bag.
McCormick County: McCormick County School District is currently on intercession due to our modified year round calendar. We are geared up to provide meals and educational packets if school does not resume at the end of March.
McDuffie County: The McDuffie County School System will implement a “Grab-n-Go” program beginning Friday, March 20, 2020 until Friday, April 10, 2020. The program will provide breakfast and lunch for students at three sites within the community. The sites will be open for breakfast beginning at 7:45 and ending at 8:45. Lunch will be available from 11:15 until 12:30. The sites will be open Monday-Friday. Each site will have a table set-up on the exterior which will allow for students to “Grab-n-Go” breakfast and lunch.

Emanuel County:FREE LUNCH MEALS FOR ALL CHILDREN AGES 1–18; Wednesday, March 18-Friday March 27: Emanuel County School Nutrition will be providing lunch meals FREE Of Charge to children 1–18 years of age. Meals will be delivered at times and locations listed in the following chart:
Aiken County: Beginning Tuesday, March 17, our school buses will be transporting meals to students along our regular bus routes. These no-cost, grab-and-go meals are available to any student desiring one. Each grab-and-go bag will contain nutrition for breakfast as well as lunch. Buses transporting food for students will begin their routes at 11 a.m., and most will have made their deliveries by 12:30 p.m. Please review the routes for estimated arrival time.
Saluda County: Student meal pick up is available at all schools in the district, through Friday, between 10:30am and 11:30am. Per federal regulation, children must be present to receive a meal. All children eighteen and under are eligible. We will evaluate the effectiveness of the current feeding program after Friday and make adjustments as needed.
Barnwell District 25: We currently have 9 sites within our community where we are offering Grab and Go meals. We are using school buses to deliver the meals. Barnwell School District 45 has implemented our “Summer Feed Program” to go into effect and provide two nutritious meals per day to our students during this time. This began at our local feeding sites on Monday, March 16. The meals will be “grab and go” style, and those sites include Maple Glen, Colony West, Litchfield, Barnwell Arms, and the BHS Cafeteria. After providing over 300 meals today, we have added two additional sites – Ramblewood and Carokee communities. As with our normal summer feeding procedures, these meals will be provided for any children 18 and under. Each child needs to be accompanied by an adult, 18 years or older. Breakfast will be available from 8am to 9am, and lunch will be available from 11am to 12pm.
Barnwell District 29: Beginning March 16, 2020 through March 31, 2020, Williston School District 29 will provide a grab-and-go style breakfast and lunch for our Scholars 18 years old and younger living in the Williston School District boundaries. The following sites are Sugar Hill 8:30AM until 9:30AM, Lincoln Park 8:30AM until 9:30AM, Winfield Heights 10AM until 11AM, and Kelly Edwards Elementary School 10AM until 11AM.
Barnwell District 19: Breakfast and lunch will be provided during the school closure for all students 18 years old or younger living within the Blackville-Hilda Public School District boundaries. Both meals will be picked up at one time (as indicated below) at the following locations daily beginning Monday, March 16 through March 31, 2020 at the following locations.

Bamberg District One: Beginning Tuesday, breakfast and lunch will be provided each week day during the school closure period, with pick-up only at Richard Carroll Elementary School. Breakfast will be served at 8 AM and lunch will be provided at 12 noon. All meals will be grab and go and only students can pick up the meals. Meals will be distributed at the RCES bus port and entry will be from the Binnicker Bridge Road entrance. The district will also make one daily delivery of both breakfast and lunch by established bus routes outside of Bamberg. Buses will depart Richard Carroll Elementary School at 9:00 a.m. each day, Monday through Friday. These meals will be delivered to the students at their bus stop so students need to be on the lookout for the bus so they can receive their meals. Due to Federal regulations, students must be present at the bus stops to pick up the meals. Adults cannot pick up meals for children at either the school site or at the bus stop sites.
Bamberg District Two: Starting March 30, Bamberg District Two will deliver meals to students along regular school bus routes. Meals will be delivered on Mondays and Wednesdays. Parents will be notified if any changes to the schedule are necessary.
