UPDATE | Investigators arrest and charge second suspect for alleged armed robbery and kidnapping

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Investigators have arrested and charged 28-year-old, Jesse Adams, in connection to an armed robbery and kidnapping at the Econo Lodge in Aiken last month.

Aiken Department of Public Safety officers responded to Walmart on Richland Avenue on Jan. 23, 2018 around 6:45 a.m. in reference to a suspicious person. When they arrived, they found a victim who told investigators that he and a second victim were being held against their will at gunpoint in a hotel room at the Econo Lodge.

Investigators said Adams was located this morning on unrelated charges. Upon his arrest, he was charged with accessory after the fact to a felony and malicious injury to personal property in relation to the Econo Lodge Robbery.

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Investigators have arrested a woman they said is facing charges of armed robbery and kidnapping.

Lisa Marie Boatright, 28, is also facing charges of battery in the first degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

When they arrived, they found a victim who told investigators that he and a second victim were being held against their will at gunpoint in a hotel room at the Econo Lodge.

The victim said that their belongings were taken from them while they were held at gunpoint, and the second victim was pistol-whipped by Boatright.

Boatright and an unidentified man left the hotel in a dark-colored sedan believed to be a newer-model Toyota Camry.
