Man, 42, identified as inmate who died at Charles B. Webster Detention Center

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- Officials with the Richmond County Coroner's Office have identified a 42-year-old man who died in the custody of the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.

Curtis Riley was found unresponsive in his cell by deputy jailers on Thursday morning. Those jailers attempted CPR before Riley was pronounced dead around 10:20 a.m.

An autopsy is scheduled at the GBI Crime Lab.

The GBI was called in as standard protocol, and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office will conduct an internal investigation.

Riley was jailed on Feb. 17 on burglary, trespassing, and failure to appear charges.
