Hurricane Shelters opening across our area

(WRDW/WAGT) -- A few shelters are opening up ahead of Hurricane Michael.

Richmond County: The Blythe Community Center will open at 6 p.m. Pet owners can take their pets to the Augusta Animal Shelter or the Blythe Community Center where they will be transported by the county to the shelter. Anyone needing assistance with transportation to a shelter can call Augusta 311.

Aiken County: Aiken County EMA is opening three shelters ahead of the storm.

-- Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist
-- Wagener First Baptist Church

Saluda County: St. Paul United Methodist Church is opening a shelter at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. No pets will be allowed.

Edgefield County: Shelter opening at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Edgefield County Council Chambers - 215 Jeter Street.

Jefferson County: Red Cross has opened a shelter at the Rec Center in Jefferson County.
