COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA (WRDW/WAGT) -- Georgia's health department is investigating a case of Hepatitis A at a Columbia County restaurant.
According to officials, an employee at the Steak 'n Shake in Columbia County was diagnosed with the virus.
Officials say that employee is not currently working at the restaurant and fellow employees are being offered a vaccine.
At this time, health officials have said the risk of transmission from food service employee to the public is considered low due to standard sanitation practices.
Still, health officials are inspecting the restaurant Friday to ensure food safety and handling protocols are being followed.
