Georgia man arrested for shooting at officials trying to serve warrant

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A man was arrested and charged with two counts aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after shooting at officials trying to serve an arrest warrant.

55-year-old Terry Kielisch fired shots at a GSP helicopter which was occupied by a GSP pilot and a tactical flight officer. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, US Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the Georgia Department of Community Supervision and the Georgia State Patrol were attempting to serve him with an arrest warrant on the 2400 block of Hoods Chapel Road in Blythe.

Neither the GSP pilot nor the tactical flight officer were injured. The helicopter did sustain damage.

Kielisch is currently in custody.
