MACON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a man in connection with threats made against a Mercer University Professor in Macon.

Officials say Anshu Patre, 28, is being charged with Stalking, Terroristic Threats and Acts, and Harassing Communications. He was booked on Thursday to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. They say Patre had 'harassing contact' with a Mercer professor.

On Wednesday, December 26, the GBI says they were called in by the Mercer University Police Department to assist with the investigation. That investigation revealed that Patre had graduated from Mercer about 6 years ago. He reportedly sent threatening emails to a former professor.

The GBI found Patre at his home in Griffin, Ga. with his parents. The home was searched, and Patre was arrested and transported back to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. The GBI is still investigating.
