AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) -- These pups and cats are hoping the luck of the Irish rubs off on them with a new home this weekend!

This Saturday the Friends of the Animal Shelter and the Aiken County Animal Shelter are hosting their "St. Pawtrick's Day" adoption event from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Aiken County Animal Shelter at 333 Wire Road, in Aiken.

Dogs and puppies will be available for just $35 and cats and kittens will go for $10. Spring brings in a lot of kittens, and more will be available in about two weeks.

These animals under the care of FOTAS and ACOS are all socialized with people and other animals, and they get exercised as often as possible. They're all fit for homes.

So, head out to the shelter this weekend to find your new best friend!
