WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A former Burke Medical Center pharmacy director has been hit with a federal indictment related to a controlled substance.
According to court documents filed back on Feb. 5, 2019, Wilton Clinton Meeks has been charged with acquiring a controlled substance by misrepresentation, deception, or subterfuge.
Documents say Meeks "knowingly and intentionally acquired Oxycodone, a Schedule II controlled substance, by misrepresentation, deception, or subterfuge" for his own personal use through a pharmacy under his control.
Before he was charged, Meeks voluntarily surrendered his pharmacist license to the State Board of Pharmacy back in August 2018.
