Eating Well with Kim: Family Meals

AUGUSTA, G.A. (WRDW/WAGT) -- There are many different varieties of healthy family foods.
The top barrier to family meals is usually lack of time, but another one is when we think meals have to be 100% homemade or something pinterest worthy, and they don't. Families want progress, not perfection, so relying on healthy packaged foods is a great and realistic option.
The following are meals on the fly.
Cheese tortellini can be served with healthy sauce and a side of baby carrots and fruit simple, or add broth, frozen veggies and serve it as soup with fruit on the side.
Another kind of family meal next Mexican convenience. For a really quick fix, keep some of the healthier frozen burritos in the freezer and serve with pre-made guacamole, and salsa.
Lastly, rotisserie chicken, steam fresh veggies, and minute rice or quinoa ,tuna salad, PBJ + sliced veggies and fruit eaten together can be a family meal. And, family meals can be breakfast or snacks if that is the only time a family schedules match up.
