, as this website is a great resource for family based nutrition that offers tips, articles, recipes and videos to help families shop smart, cook healthy and eat right child nutrition tips and suggestions.
Still, there are other resources to reference healthy foods.
Another one of my favorite websites for child nutrition tips is
. This website is run by a dietitian and has many valuable resources. Another resource I mention all the time are the cookbooks by the Meal Makeover Moms, as they also have a great podcast which is wonderful. Folks can listen to them in the car, while folding laundry or exercising
While websites are great healthy references, cookbooks (or e-books) are good, too. But, inevitably you will find little pearls of wisdom tucked into different cookbooks or recipes that your kids will enjoy.
Even with solid references as your fingertips, it is very important keep food basics in the mind.
Breakfast is a meal that parents have significant influence over, especially as kids get older (since they are hopefully at home early in the morning). This is also the age group of kids who skip breakfast the most. So while a sit down breakfast may be ideal, it is practical to keep some grab-and-go breakfast items on hand.
