(WRDW/WAGT) -- Georgia just passed a hands-free driving law earlier this month making it illegal to hold a phone while driving.

Now, South Carolina legislators are trying to get behind the same law. Under current law in the Palmetto state, it's only illegal to text while driving.

This isn’t the first rodeo for South Carolina lawmakers. There's been a hands-free bill filed in the state before, but it failed to become a law.

Aiken representative Bill Taylor says he's filing another bill in December.
