Deputy involved in late night crash on Wheeler Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A deputy with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office is recovering at home after being involved in a crash late Tuesday night.
Deputy Brandon Crawford was responding to an accident with injuries on Walton Way Extention on his vehicle. When approaching Wheeler Road, at around 10:37 p.m., Crawford ran into another vehicle.
Deputy Crawford was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where he was treated and released. The driver of the vehicle was also transported to AUMC, and remains stable Wednesday morning.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
