RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -- A suspect has been arrested in an overnight car theft and chase in downtown Augusta.

Richmond County deputies arrested Jerome Burley around 1:30 this morning (October 16) on the 2100 block of A Street. Officials stated that Burley, along with three other suspects, were seen exiting a stolen Chevrolet Traverse while it was still in motion.

Investigators observed the Traverse traveling along A Street toward Wood Street unoccupied when it struck another car.

Burley reportedly sustained minor injuries after falling out of the moving vehicle and was offered a medical evaluation by Gold Cross EMS but he denied the assistance.

The stolen Traverse was soon returned to its owner. Additional details about the other suspects in the vehicle were not immediately available.
